Australia
Under
the exclusive Captain's Table Label, the group
has enjoyed significant trading success over the last decade with
two wines, a Shiraz-Cabernet and a Semillon-Chardonnay from South
Eastern Australia, together with the Captain's Table Rosé -
a medium bodied and well balanced wine. Also in the Captain's
Table range is a new 1/4 size bottle.
Strong
support from members means that these wines are now widely available
in the U.K. via the independent sector.
We
are pleased to offer a Mountbridge Reserve Merlot, Mountbridge
Reserve Shiraz and a Mountbridge Reserve Chardonnay.
This represents one of the most recent examples of the consortium's
ability to please the membership with good quality liquid, sensible
pricing and an appealing presentation for the different market
sectors and regions of the country.

well as three family run estates (Château Brown, Château
Ducla and Château Preuillac), Yvon Mau has exclusive partnerships,
working closely with over 80 Châteaux covering 1,000 hectares
of vines.

Burgundy
The
first of the group's four contacts in Burgundy, that most complex
of regions fully to appreciate and understand, is Maison Louis
Latour, a distinguished 200 year old Burgundy House led by the
seventh generation of the family, Louis-Fabrice Latour.
At
the instigation of some of the southern members, TSOV now ship
direct from Louis Latour in both the Spring and the Autumn of each
year, offering a small selection of fine, particularly white, Burgundies,
as well as the much appreciated country wines from the Ardèche.

Burgundy
Chablis and Rhône
As
part of the large Bichot family enterprise the group enjoys near
exclusive use of the Labaume division for its
principal supply of Burgundy Chablis and Rhône wines, although
the Labaume offer is indeed one of four from this
extensive area, promoted by the group.
Six
generations of the Bichot family, all their accumulated "savoir-faire" and
the knowledge as both vineyard owners and shippers contribute to
the confidence the group places in the vast array of wines on offer.
Generic
Burgundy and Beaujolais under the Labaume label, better quality
red wines under the "sous-marque" Caves Auguste
Moreau, a delightful selection of premier white wines
under the flag of Paul Paillard as well as some
special wines under Bichot's personal label all feature regularly
in many Members' catalogues. At the top end of the scale some Members
also offer top-notch Burgundies from some of the proud Bichot family's
own personal domains.
Traditions
dating back to 1831 are worth further investigation at www.bichot.com
The
TSOV also offers our own label exclusive Chablis - "Paul Delane," a
classic Chablis wine with the typical
dry apple and spice flavours that beautifully accompany fish, white
meat and salad dishes.

raspberries; a Colombard Chardonnay, a crisp, fruity, dry wine
made from Colombard and Chardonnay grapes grown in the Central

Chablis
and Vin de Table
The
famous and well-reputed Chablis specialist J. Moreau et Fils is
now part of the enormous Boisset empire, without any discernable
detriment to the excellence of their wines!! Moreau has been a
great supporter of the consortium for many years assisting in the
development of the group's activities in a variety of pro-active
ways.
In
addition to the full range of Chablis wines produced and promoted
by Moreau, the consortium is also able to offer a wide range of
other wines and also ships Vin de Table in Burgundy style bottles
under the exclusive "sous-marque" label of J.

When
the consortium's Champagne House 'de préférence'
wins a prestigious trade or wine journal award, it is a matter
of great pride and sound judgement on the part of the Members.
When the Champagnes from H.Blin under their own label and now under
the consortium's exclusive Jules Feraud brand
name win accolades for quality almost as a matter of routine, it
becomes a matter of immodest satisfaction marked by the celebratory
sound of popping corks!
Jules
Feraud has been a stalwart of the group's activities
for a long long time, now available as both a vintage (2000)
wine and also a number of non-vintage styles.
Jules
Feraud Non Vintage Brut Cuvée de Réserve
is the flagship wine, available in half bottles, bottles, magnums
and Jeroboams, whilst Demi-Sec and Rosé are also widely
stocked by consortium members.

Chile
Although
the group's proposals for Chile, a dynamic and growing market opportunity,
are currently under review, it is worth remarking on the success
of the group's exclusive Volandas label, currently
widely available in 4 styles - Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon,
Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc.
Exclusive
to TSOV is the upper market Lomas Carrera label which offers Cabernet
Sauvignon, Carmenere, Chardonnay, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc.

Germany
In
the long-distant "heyday" of German Wine consumption
in the U.K. market the consortium had the good sense to team up
with Schmitt -Soehne for their requirements of all German Wines.
Despite the growth of New World consumption and the relative decline
in German wine sales, the group and Schmitt-Soehne have remained
mutually loyal.
Under
the group's exclusive "Konigscup" label,
Thomas Schmitt has supplied the group with the ever - popular QbA
styles of Liebfraumilch, Niersteiner Gutes Domtal, Oppenheimer
Krotenbrunnen , Piesporter Michelsberg and Bereich Bernkastel,
whilst the range has been amplified under the Schmitt-Soehne label
with a tempting selection of Kabinett, Spatlese and Auslese wines.
A
clear majority of members support this supplier and the consortium
has been rewarded for its loyalty by generous hospitality visits
to Germany in the past sponsored by Thomas Schmitt!

Loire
and Vin de Table
It
is a measure of the group's vision and pragmatic flexibility that
it has negotiated successfully with two different suppliers from
the Loire Valley, both of whom enjoy significant trade with the
group:-
Remy
Pannier
www.remy-pannier.com
Under
the 'Le Cellier' brand name which belongs to the
consortium, a vast quantity of Vin de Table 'House Wine' is supplied
to many members. In addition the hugely successful 'Dame
de la Vallée' brand of Vin de Pays
has found great favour since its launch some 5 years ago. TSOV
consistently hits annual quantity targets to ensure the benefits
of competitive pricing.
Les
Celliers du Prieuré
As
well as a standard range of traditional generic Loire wines, this
supplier works closely with a number of members who ship Vin de
Table under their own particular 'House Wine' labels The Valentin
Fleur range of Vin de Pays named after the grandfather
of the present M.D. is a relatively new concept already finding
much commercial success.

Port
Founded
in 1756, the Real Companhia Velha, the oldest of the Port Houses,
is known in the UK as the Royal Oporto Wine Company, with whom
the Society of Vintners has traded for some 20 years. Owning
5 Quintas in the Upper Douro, the company also has stocks of 35
million litres in its Port cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia.
Once
each year a dedicated shipment is made for the group not only of
Royal Oporto's own Vintage wines, but also Late Bottled Vintage,
Tawny (superb 20 year old Tawny) and White Ports.
The
bulk of the shipment is however dedicated to the group's exclusive Windsor
Ruby and Windsor Special Reserve brands.

Rhône
A
welcome and relatively recent addition to the TSOV portfolio of
wine selections is a proposal of interesting Rhône wines
from Domaine Louis Bernard.
Beset
by difficulties following the terrible flooding or recent years,
the Rhône Valley is beginning to fight its way back to the
prominence of earlier days.
An
interesting selection of Rhône wines is on offer to group
members and this section of our site will
be expanded to reflect the Domaine Louis Bernard profile when
its own web-site is launched.

Sherry
The
Sherry category is, in the modern world of marketing, being forced
to re-invent itself to appeal to a wider audience. Previously a
prominent sector in the overall drinks market, Sherry has suffered
a decline at the hands of the fickle image-conscious modern customer,
much to the chagrin of the aficionado.
However
quality wines are still readily available to the discerning consumer
and the connection between Emilio Lustau and the TSOV is one of
the most enduring relationships.
Under
the 'Cosecha' label a full range of Sherries is
offered through the Membership from Manzanilla and Fino, to Amontillado
and on to Pale Cream and Cream.
Great
confidence is placed in these wines which are believed by group
members to be superior in quality to the big High Street brand
names.
Visit www.emilio-lustau.com for
more insight into an underrated category.

South
Africa
The
Society is an exclusive importer of the Kleindal range
of wines, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc,
Merlot, Pinotage, Ruby Cabernet and Sauvignon Blanc.
2004
in particular will be remembered by Kleindal as
a great vintage for red wines with good colour, great depth and
an excellent fruit-acid balance, and whites with upfront fruit
and a crisp acidity.
Bon
Courage award winning wines have been produced by the
Bruwer family for three generations. Andre and his son Jacque
have orchestrated the whole estate into a thoughtfully arranged,
wine producing operation thus guaranteeing consistent and continuous
product perfection. In 2006 many of the Bon Courage wines won
Gold and Silver medals. Both the Bon Courage Sauvignon
Blanc 2007 and Inkara Cabernet Sauvignon 2003 received
the prestigious TROPHÉE EXCELLENCE at
this year's Citadelles du Vin competetion in
France.

Spain
The
Society is an exclusive importer of COTO MAYOR Crianza, Rose and
White wines. 2005
was a vintage of extraordinary quality in the
Coto Mayor vineyards. The weather was magnificent, especially during
the harvest time, something which helped the ripening greatly.
The wines have the ideal characteristics for ageing (high polyphenol,
good alcohol, structure and balance).
The
rose is rich in aromas of strawberries and raspberries also shows
some violet and petals. Dry character, it does show a wide range
of red fruits, sharp and crispy.
Coto
Mayor White possesses a pleasant acidity which combines perfectly
with an exquisite aftertaste of fruit and flowers.

Sparkling
Wines
The Chevalier company
was sold by its family owners to the vast Boisset empire who have
continued to respect the traditions and quality of these Burgundy
produced sparkling wines.
As
well as promoting an everyday Vin Mousseux made
in the Cuvée Close style, the group is also proud to be
associated with the Monopole Blanc de Blancs wines
made in the "méthode traditionelle" renowned in
the Champagne region.
A
number of group members had followed the Chevalier fortunes for
up to 20 years before the consortium decided to bestow its own
seal of approval and recommend Chevalier as the
preferred brand of sparkling wines amongst the membership.
Visit www.boisset.com to
learn more about the various parts of the Boisset conglomerate.
Mountbridge
Sparkling Brut NV is a very refreshing, easy drinking
sparkling wine displaying fresh, fruit flavours and a creamy
palate with a crisp clean finish.
The
ideal wine for any occasion.
